MSc / Diploma topics
Modelling-related MSc and diploma topics
at the Dept. for Plant Production and Agroecology Tropics / Subtropics, 380a (Prof. Cadisch)
All topics deal with an existing land use model, which has been developed to simulate impacts of land use change in small catchments of Southeast Asia. Model development is part of the SFB 564 (The Uplands Program), an interdisciplinary project in Thailand and Vietnam, established in 2000. All topics are modelling-related and can be based in Hohenheim, but can make full use of the extensive project database for model parameterisation. Existing field data are used to parameterise, calibrate and validate the model. All topics require interest in and basic understanding of mathematics and programming, but no explicit specialisation unless stated otherwise. The suggested topics are starting points and will be further developed with the MSc candidate. Starting date can be immediately, but is relatively flexible.
