SustainSahel developed tools
Code availability
The LUCIA model further developed under SustainSahel project (EU No 861974) has been made openly available as a collaborative open-source modelling platform on GitHub.
Output scenario analysis tools
Following the workflow procedures in Figure 1, output analysis tools have been using a case study of an integrated trade-off analysis of organic resource use in agrosilvopastoral systems in Niakhar, Senegal, which can be adapted for other sites and study contexts. This study presents scenarios to capture interactions within a mixed crop-tree/shrub-livestock farming system, highlighting the use and reuse of organic resources across land and animal components using the LUCIA-LivSim coupled model. The following templates are available:
- Excel template for coupled LUCIA-LivSim output analysis (download - zipped 18MB!)
- Excel template for comparative scenario analysis

Calibration maps and physiological analysis
A set of necessary PCRaster maps for simulations at resolutions of 6, 30, 100 m and at 100 m with a grazing example for parameterisation of crops, trees, grassland and soils at plot and slope scale:
- PCRaster LUCIA Testfield Maps 15x13 pixel (download)
To help parameterisation an excel tool which allows to link different parameters of a specific land use system of up to 15 land uses is also available:
- Excel template for physiological relationship and treatment response analysis (download)
LUCIA calibration using UCODE
UCODE is a parameter estimation software for universal sensitivity analysis, calibration and uncertainty evaluation.
UCODE with LUCIA step_by_step instructions (download)
Rapid Data Collection tool
Rapid Data Collection is a tool employed to import PCRaster time series outputs into excel sheets.
RDC is particularly useful for post-processing graphs in spreadsheet or statistics softwares. It works as follows:
1. Enable Macros
2. Click on the button "Get data"
3. Define path to output data
4. Choose crop(s) by double clicking
5. Select parameter(s) for import
Download RDC here.
